EDMONTON – An evening created to be a catalyst for positive health behaviour change will teach attendees about nutrition, exercise, stress management and taking control of their health in an effort to manage or prevent a cancer diagnosis, sponsored by Muddy Philanthropy with all proceeds benefitting Knight’s Cabin.
Featuring keynotes from Dr. Lisa Belanger, Founder of Knight’s Cabin, an award-winning researcher, author, and CEO of ConsciousWorks and Corey Deacon, Board-Certified Doctor of Natural Medicine, and co-founder of Neurovana Health. A Knight of Wellness will take place on the evening of Thursday, September 6th 2018 at the Shell Theatre in Fork Saskatchewan.
In her keynote speech, Dr. Lisa Belanger will take attendees through the research-grounded health benefits of physical activity, eating well, getting enough sleep and managing stress for cancer prevention to survivorship. Dr. Belanger will examine how small habits can have a tremendous impact on your health, how you can integrate these behaviours in your daily routine and how you can make the best of the rest of your life.
In his keynote address, Corey Deacon will explore naturopathic cancer treatment. In particular, directing attention towards treating the person by unravelling the web of underlying causes and creating a personalized roadmap for treatment. “Sometimes we are too caught up in complicated medicine and all we need to do is piece together the puzzle of simple science”, says Corey, who has supported many patients through their cancer journey.
More cancer patients than ever are surviving intensive cancer treatments. The mental and physical impact of cancer does not disappear when treatments are done. Cancer survivors often face physical, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual and financial challenges as a result of their diagnosis. On September 6th, join Knight’s Cabin, Rob Williams, Dr. Lisa Belanger, and Corey Deacon, as they explore some of the integrative and wellness-focused initiatives in ongoing cancer treatment.
